When a customer does not reply to a quote, the next message should make the decision easier. They may need to compare options, confirm a detail or postpone the purchase. Begin with the actual request and a clear question, rather than assuming that silence means rejection or demanding an answer.
Check the agreement before following up
Read the last exchange. If the customer said they would decide on Friday, respect that timing. Check that the quote reached the right conversation and still reflects the requested scope. Choose a reasonable contact time for that relationship; these editable examples are not a fixed sending schedule.
Use a short message with one purpose
First check: “Hi [name], did you have a chance to review the quote for [service]? If anything about [scope or delivery] is unclear, I can help.” This brings back context without repeating the whole proposal.
Clarify a decision: “Hi [name], is [option A] still suitable for what you need, or should we adjust [specific detail]? I can revise the proposal if your plans have changed.” Only offer a revision you can actually provide.
Agree a next step: “Would it help if I checked back on [day], or would you prefer to leave this for another time?” Giving a choice is more useful than repeatedly asking whether they saw the previous message.
Record the next action on the opportunity
Keep the card in Quote sent while the decision is pending. Note the last contact, unresolved question and next review date. If the customer replies with a new requirement, update the stage and answer that requirement before sending another reminder.
Keep context beside the chat
Use stages and notes to record what the quote needs next.
Prepare automation around the conversation
In TappyWhats, follow-up sequences belong to Kanban columns. Choose delays and sending windows, and configure the reply destination rule so an answer ends the sequence and returns the card to service. CRM editing and automation require active Pro or an eligible seven-day trial without a card.
Keep the originating computer and browser online with WhatsApp Web open and connected. After an interruption, review pending sends. Check the conversation before retrying anything with an uncertain result, especially if you have already replied manually.
Configure a proposal sequence
Control messages, waiting times and the return to service.
Close the loop if there is no response
Closing message: “Hi [name], I will close this follow-up for now so I do not keep interrupting you. If [project] becomes a priority again, you can message me here.” Record the outcome and stop the sequence. Do not invent scarcity or send a discount solely to force a reply.
Common questions
How long should I wait?
Use the decision date agreed with the customer. Without one, choose a proportionate interval for the request and ask about timing.
Should I send the same quote again?
Only when useful or requested. First identify what is missing: delivery, scope, price clarification or time to decide.
What if the customer asks me to stop?
Stop the follow-up, record the preference and remove the opportunity from any sending sequence.
