Everything about TappyWhats, the CRM for WhatsApp Web

TappyWhats is an extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge that turns WhatsApp Web into a sales and customer service CRM — with a Kanban pipeline, quick replies, scheduled messages, labels and notes, without leaving the conversation. Below are the most common questions from people who are just starting out.

Automation runs on your PC — not in the cloud

Automatic sending doesn’t happen on a server of ours: your own computer does the work. Automatic follow-up, scheduled messages and bulk sending are run by the browser, in the WhatsApp Web tab. For a routine that sends overnight or all day long, the computer needs to stay on 24 hours a day, with the browser open. Shut down, went to sleep or closed the browser? The automation is cut off where it was and does not resume on its own when the machine turns back on — whatever was left halfway needs your manual review.

What is TappyWhats?

TappyWhats is a browser extension (Chrome and Microsoft Edge) that turns WhatsApp Web into a sales and customer service CRM. It adds a Kanban board, quick replies, scheduled messages, labels, notes and follow-up right next to the conversation, without taking you out of WhatsApp Web.

Is TappyWhats a CRM for WhatsApp?

Yes. TappyWhats is a CRM for WhatsApp that works inside WhatsApp Web itself, as a browser extension. Unlike traditional CRM platforms, you don’t need to connect the official WhatsApp Business API, migrate your conversations or use another app: your contacts become cards in a Kanban pipeline on the same screen where you already handle customers.

Do I need to leave my computer on for automations to work?

Yes — and that applies to everything automatic: automatic follow-up, scheduled messages and bulk sending (remarketing). TappyWhats has no server sending messages for you: your own computer does the work, inside the browser, in the WhatsApp Web tab. In practice, your PC is the server. If it is off, asleep, offline or WhatsApp Web is closed, nothing is sent at that time. If your routine sends overnight, on weekends or throughout the day, the computer needs to stay on 24 hours a day, with the browser open on WhatsApp Web.

Why doesn’t TappyWhats send from the cloud, like other platforms?

Because that exact choice is what keeps the price so low. A cloud platform has to keep a server connected to your WhatsApp 24 hours a day, and that cost shows up in the monthly fee. TappyWhats runs inside the browser you already use: there is no server of ours connected to your WhatsApp sending messages, so there is no per-customer sending infrastructure cost. The price of that savings is depending on your computer being on for anything automatic. It’s a deliberate trade-off, made for people who are just starting out and don’t want to pay a high monthly fee.

If I turn off my computer or close the browser, will the automation pick up again on its own?

No. This is the part that needs to be clear before you buy: the browser does not run in the background. If the computer shuts down, goes to sleep, loses internet or the browser is closed, the automation is CUT OFF where it was and does not resume on its own when the machine comes back. When you turn it back on, you need to open WhatsApp Web and MANUALLY REVIEW whatever was left halfway: check who already received it, what didn’t go out, and reschedule what’s missing. A message scheduled for a time when the PC was off is not sent later on its own either. We don’t promise that everything resumes by itself, because today it doesn’t. If your operation can’t depend on this, the way to go is TappyOne CRM (crm.tappy.id), which runs on a server.

Does a closed laptop or a sleeping computer count as “on”?

No. A closed laptop, a computer in sleep or hibernation, and a closed browser cut off the automation just like shutting the machine down — and since it doesn’t resume on its own, each of these situations turns into a manual review afterward. To run overnight: in Windows power options, set sleep and hibernate to "Never" (turning off only the screen is fine), keep Chrome or Edge open on the WhatsApp Web tab, keep the internet connected, and prevent Windows from restarting on its own for updates.

I can’t leave my PC on all the time. Is there a version that runs on a server?

Yes: TappyOne CRM (crm.tappy.id). It’s our platform that runs on our own servers, 24 hours a day — follow-up, scheduling and sending keep happening with your computer off, and your team can access it from anywhere. It’s a separate product, with a subscription from R$ 157 (Brazilian reais) per month. To sum up the choice: TappyWhats is the low-cost option for people who are just starting out and can leave the PC on; TappyOne CRM is for those who can no longer depend on a machine being on.

Can I rent a cloud machine (VPS) just to keep TappyWhats running?

You can. Some people rent a remote Windows computer and leave the browser open there, precisely so they don’t depend on their home PC. It works, but you end up paying for that machine and looking after it: updates, the WhatsApp Web session dropping, restarts. Before going down that path, compare the cost with TappyOne CRM (crm.tappy.id, from R$ 157 (Brazilian reais) per month), which already delivers this ready to use and with support.

What about the features that aren’t automatic — do they also require the PC to be on?

No. The Kanban CRM, labels, notes, quick replies, history and search are used manually: they work when you open the browser and don’t need anything running in the background. The computer-on requirement applies only to things that happen on their own at a set time: automatic follow-up, scheduled messages and bulk sending.

Is TappyWhats free?

Yes. When you install it, you get a 7-day free Pro trial, with no credit card and no forms. After the trial, the extension keeps working on the Free plan, with lower limits — for example, the free Kanban has a card limit. Paid plans (Pro, Pro Multi and Teams) are optional and appear inside the extension itself and on the pricing page.

Where is my data stored? Is TappyWhats safe?

When you use TappyWhats with an account (including during the free trial and on the Free plan), your CRM data — Kanban cards, notes, labels, reminders and settings — is saved on the TappyWhats server, isolated per account. That’s what lets you switch computers, reinstall the extension or work as a team without losing anything. Message text is stored encrypted and only for product features, such as AI; photos, videos and documents from conversations are not stored on the server. You can export your data to a JSON file whenever you want.

Which browsers does TappyWhats work on?

TappyWhats works on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, and also on Chromium-based browsers that accept extensions from the Chrome Web Store, such as Brave and Opera. You need to use WhatsApp Web with your computer on.

How do I install TappyWhats on WhatsApp Web?

Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store or the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store, open WhatsApp Web and log in as usual. TappyWhats appears automatically next to the conversation, and the 7-day free Pro trial starts on its own, with no card and no forms.

Can I schedule messages on WhatsApp Web?

Yes. WhatsApp Web doesn’t schedule messages natively, but TappyWhats adds this feature: you write the message, pick the day and time, and it is sent automatically. You can also attach an image, video or document, or record audio for the scheduled send. The computer must be on with WhatsApp Web open at the time of sending.

Do I need WhatsApp Business or the official API?

No. TappyWhats works on top of WhatsApp Web with the account you already use, whether regular WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business. You don’t need to sign up for the official API (Cloud API), pay per conversation window or get a number approved.

Does TappyWhats send bulk messages to my contact list?

Yes, with the bulk sending feature (Remarketing) — but in a controlled way, to your own contact list. Messages go out one contact at a time, with a queue, limits, intervals between messages, pause, rotating message variations, business hours, opt-out and a sending report. It is not a blind campaign, and TappyWhats does not promise to get around WhatsApp blocks: you accept liability terms before using it.

Does TappyWhats recover deleted messages?

Yes. TappyWhats Private Mode recovers deleted messages — text, photos and documents — right in the WhatsApp Web chat. The same feature lets you blur the screen and go invisible, hiding "typing", read receipts and "audio played". Everything is local, free and turned off by default: you turn on only what you want.

Does TappyWhats organize conversations in Kanban?

Yes. The TappyWhats Kanban CRM imports your WhatsApp Web chats and turns each contact into a card, which you drag between the columns of your pipeline (for example: New, In progress, Closed). Each card keeps notes, labels, reminders and the activity history for that customer.

Will using TappyWhats get my WhatsApp banned?

The extension itself does not get your number banned: it is a local layer in your browser, on top of the WhatsApp Web you already use. What leads to a ban is behavior — high message volume, unsolicited messages and, above all, people marking you as spam or reporting you. TappyWhats was designed to reduce that risk: it doesn’t run blind campaigns and sends to one contact at a time, with a queue, intervals between messages, pause and opt-out. Even so, no tool can guarantee you won’t be banned — anyone who promises that is lying.

Does Meta allow extensions on WhatsApp Web?

WhatsApp’s Terms of Service restrict automation and bulk messaging by unofficial clients, and there is no Meta authorization for third-party extensions. Anyone who says otherwise isn’t being honest with you. TappyWhats stays on the safe side of that line: it doesn’t create a fake client or talk to WhatsApp’s servers on the side — it organizes, on your screen, the WhatsApp Web you have already opened and are already logged in to. The sending features exist for your own contact list, with limits and a human pace, and you accept liability terms before using them.

What actually gets a number banned on WhatsApp?

In practice, three things: reports (people click "block" or "report" when they receive something they didn’t ask for), volume that is out of line with the number’s age and reputation, and the identical message sent to lots of people in a short time. Notice that none of them is "using an extension" — they are all behavior. People who message those who have already talked to the business rarely get reported. People who buy a list and blast it get reported fast, with or without TappyWhats.

Can I message people who have never contacted me?

We don’t recommend it, and TappyWhats wasn’t built for that. The tool exists to talk to people who have already been in touch with you — who messaged you, asked for a quote, bought from you or left their number. Messaging people who never reached out is exactly what generates reports, and reports are what get numbers banned. If your operation depends on reaching out to strangers in bulk, TappyWhats is not the right tool.

How many messages per day are safe?

There is no official number, and be wary of anyone who gives you an exact one. The real limit depends on the number’s age, its history, how many people reply and how many report it. The safe path is to start slow, grow gradually and watch: if your reply rate drops and blocks go up, you’ve gone too far. TappyWhats helps with intervals between messages, business hours and text variation — but the healthy pace is set by your contact list.

If I get banned, is it TappyWhats’ fault?

A ban is WhatsApp’s decision about your number, based on how you use it. TappyWhats has no access to your WhatsApp account, doesn’t talk to Meta’s servers and cannot prevent or reverse a ban. That’s why the sending features require liability terms: the account is yours, the content is yours and how you use it is up to you. What the tool does is give you limits, pacing and opt-out so you don’t fall into the behaviors that generate reports.

Does TappyWhats promise anti-ban protection?

No. We don’t promise anti-ban, we don’t sell "protected numbers" and we have no way to get around WhatsApp bans — and any tool that promises that is selling you an illusion. Anti-ban doesn’t exist: WhatsApp evaluates behavior, and no third-party software controls that decision. What truly reduces risk is talking to people who want to talk to you, at a person’s pace.

What’s the difference between TappyWhats and buying a list and blasting it?

It’s the difference between serving and pestering. Blasting a purchased list means messaging people who never reached out to you: it generates reports, burns your number and, depending on the case, violates the LGPD (Brazil’s data protection law), because you are processing personal data without a legal basis. TappyWhats works with YOUR contact list — people who have already talked to you — and sends one at a time, with intervals, pause and opt-out. There is no feature to import third-party lists and blast them blindly, and that is a product decision, not a technical limitation.

Does TappyWhats see or store my conversations?

TappyWhats stores on the server what is needed for the CRM to work on any computer: cards, notes, labels, settings and, for features like AI (translation, transcription and summaries), the text of the messages involved — always encrypted and isolated per account, without appearing in regular logs. Photos, videos and documents from conversations are not stored on the server. Audio is only sent temporarily when you request a transcription and is discarded afterward; only the transcribed text is kept. AI providers are accessed only through our server, never directly from the extension.

Is it safe to install TappyWhats? Who vouches for it?

TappyWhats is published on the Chrome Web Store and the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store. To be listed in those stores, the extension goes through review by Google and Microsoft, which check that every permission requested is justified. TappyWhats’ permissions are: storage, alarms (for scheduling), identity and Google access (only for the optional Google Calendar sync), access to WhatsApp Web and to TappyWhats’ own API. The full list appears on the store page before you install.

Does my data go to any of your servers?

Yes, and that’s intentional. Since October 2026, TappyWhats stores on the server the CRM data of everyone with an account — cards, notes, labels, reminders, settings and the text used by AI features — so that nothing is lost when you switch computers, reinstall the extension or work as a team. Data is isolated per account and conversation text is encrypted. Automatic message sending, however, is still done by your browser, not by a server of ours.

If I cancel, do I lose my CRM?

Canceling your subscription doesn’t delete your account: you go back to the Free plan and keep using the extension within the free plan’s limits. Before canceling, you can export your data to a JSON file to keep a copy.

Does TappyWhats work on mobile?

No. TappyWhats is a desktop browser extension (Chrome and Edge) and works on top of WhatsApp Web — which only exists on desktop. You can’t install extensions on a phone, so the organizing happens on the computer. In practice, people who handle customers over WhatsApp already use WhatsApp Web on their PC during work hours.

Does TappyWhats slow down WhatsApp Web?

No. TappyWhats was built with that concern from the start: each feature loads only when you open it, there are no heavy processes running in the background and the extension doesn’t keep scanning the screen all the time. If WhatsApp Web runs smoothly today, it keeps running smoothly with TappyWhats installed.

Does it work with WhatsApp Business?

Yes. TappyWhats works with the account you already use — regular WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business — because it works on top of WhatsApp Web. You don’t need to migrate accounts, change your number or sign up for the official API (Cloud API).

Can my team use the same number?

Yes, on the Teams plan. With it, several agents use the same number, each with their own login, and everyone sees the same Kanban synced in real time; the owner invites and manages the team through the customer portal. On the Free, Pro and Pro Multi plans, use is individual, with no shared team.

How do I cancel?

You cancel from your account in the customer portal, with no phone call, no form and no salesperson. When you cancel, you go back to the Free plan and can export your data as JSON whenever you want.

What if WhatsApp Web changes and breaks the extension?

WhatsApp Web changes often, and that’s why the extension is updated often. When something breaks, we fix it and the update arrives through the store itself, automatically — you don’t need to reinstall anything. It’s a real risk for any tool that works on top of WhatsApp Web, and the honest answer is ongoing maintenance, not a promise that it will never happen.

Why would I use TappyWhats instead of a chatbot?

Because they are different things. A chatbot replies in your place; TappyWhats organizes your customer service so that YOU reply better and faster. People who buy over WhatsApp usually buy because they talked to a person — the bot handles the repeated question, but loses the sale that needs a conversation. TappyWhats gives you quick replies, a pipeline, notes and reminders so you don’t lose the customer along the way, without turning the contact robotic.
